Bowie nunc est secundum a maximo genere intra familiam Ctenidarum agnotum. Cui generi tribuuntur centum et octo species, nominibus dubiis non exclusis. Terras a Nepalia in Himalaya et India meridie trans multas Asiae Meridianae et Meridio-Orientalis regiones ad Papuam Novam Guineam habitat; una autem species nondum descripta in Terra Reginae in Australia invenitur. Plurimis speciebus sunt parvi fines geographici, quorum area superficialis plerumque est circiter sescenta chiliometra quadrata.

Harum aranearum proprietas corporea magni momenti et nuper introducta est coalita pedipalpi maris fissura patellaris.

Specimina inter folia mortua in silvis vivunt, aranea dimittentes, ut insecta, reptilia, anura praedentur.

Nova emendatione taxinomica anno 2022 effecta,[2] familiae Ctenidarum sunt quingentae octoginta sex species et quadraginta octo genera, et numerus specierum ad genus Ctenum tributarum, quod olim scirpiculo chartario proderat, nunc ad centum sexaginta quattuor imminuitur.

Quinquaginta quinque species omnino novas nuperrime describuntur, quarum nomina ex operibus musicis Davidis Bowie commemorant: species ex terris maxime septentrionalibus, sicut Nepalia, ex primis in eius cursu vitae cantibus appellantur, sicut Bowie ziggystardust et Bowie majortom; species ex terris mediis, sicut Bowie letsdance et Bowie magicdance, cantus eius posterioris cursus vitae repraesentant; species ex terris maxime australibus, sicut Papua Nova Guinea, ex cantibus recentioribus, sicut B. blackstar, appellantur.

Quinque species olim inter Ctenum digestae nunc nomina dubia putantur, quattuor ex eis ad Bowie genus novum atque una ad genus Nilum translatis, quae sunt Bowie barbatus (Thorell, 1895), Bowie tumidulus (Simon, 1887b), Bowie flavidus (Hogg, 1922), Bowie pollii, et Nilus marginatus (Walckenaer, 1847). Praeter has species, tres ex Cteno transferuntur, omnibus ad genus Anahitam: Anahita periculosa (Bristowe, 1931), Anahita dangsa (Reddy & Patel, 1994), et Anahita tuniensis (Patel & Reddy, 1988)
