Potestas (socialis et politica)
Potestas in scientia sociali rebusque publicis est humana morum aliorum movendorum facultas. Vocabulum auctoritas potestati a legitimá structurá sociali perceptae saepe adhibetur. Potestas videri potest et bona et mala (vel etiam iniusta). Fundamentale potestatis adhibitae genus endemicum in nostrá specie videtur; quia autem homines sunt entia socialia, eadem notio videri potest bona, res hereditate excepta vel ad proposita humanistica adhibenda data quae adiuvabunt, movebunt, aliisque potestatem dabunt (e.g. societas fundata Gatesiana de eradicatione poliomyelitis).[1]
Plerumque a rebus interdependentiae inter binas entitates et circumiecta derivatur. In negotiis, ethica potestatis instrumentalitas est res gesta, et sic est ludus summae zeri. Verbis simplicibus, exprimi potest aut sursum aut deorsum. De potestate deorsum, superior organizationis homo inferiores movet ut fines negotii adipiscantur; cum autem societas potestatem sursum adhibet, inferiores sunt qui decreta eorum ducis vel ducum moveant.[2]
Usus potestatis nec vim nec minas virium (coercitionem) non semper implicat. Simillimus est rei quam civitates aequabiles (e.g. Dania, Nederlandia, Norvegia, Suecia) gratia appellare possunt, contra rem extremam quae nonnulli auctores in civitatibus capitalisticis minas appellare possunt, rationem quá potestas adhibetur.[3] Exemplum potestatis sine oppressione adhibitae est notio potestatis mollis, contra potestatem duram.
Multae recentiores disputationes sociologicae de potestate modum tractant quo potestas facultatem rebus det; quod significat potestatem esse rationem quae actiones sociales tam facere quam cogere vel etiam prohibere potest. Michael Foucault, philosophus Francicus, potestatem videbat expressionem structuralem "strategicam rem multiplicem in datá re sociali,"[4] quae ambas vim et facultatem poscit.
