Hades (mythologia)
Hades[1] (Graece ᾍδης) in religione Graeca est chthonicus mundi subterranei deus mortorum, regionis quae demum ex ipso appellabatur.[2] Hoc nomen autem non reperitur in libris Romanorum antiquorum, qui deum inferorum Plutonem, Orcum, vel Ditem Patrum vocabant.
In mythologia Graeca, Hades putatur primigenitus Croni Rheaeque filius, quamquam ultimus esse filius a patre vomitus dicitur.[3] Qui cum Iove et Poseidone fratribus Titanes, divam patris aetatem, vincunt, regnumque cosmi postulant. Hades mundum subterranerum, Zeus caelum, Poseidon mare accipit, terra autem, diu provincia Gaeae deae, omnibus praesto manet. Hades cum Cerbero, eius cane custodiali tricipite, saepe pingitur.
Aita, deus Etruscorum, ac Dis Pater et Orcus, dei Romani, olim per interpretationem Graecam[4] habebantur Hadis pares, atque in notione Plutonis confunduntur.
Eius consors est Persephone, a Graecis pulchra Demetris filia repraesentata.[5]
