Sophia (Graece σοφία 'sapientia') est prima notio in philosophia et religione Hellenica, Platonismo, Gnosticismo, Christianitate Orthodoxa, Christianitate esoterica, et mysticismo Christiano. Sophiologia est studium philosophicum quod sapientiam, et studium theologicum quod sapientiam dei biblici, tractat.

Sophia ut dea sapientiae a Gnosticis, nonnullis gregibus Neopaganis Aetatis Novae, et adsectatoribus spiritualitatis deae a feminismo motis colitur. In Christianitate Orthodoxa et Romana Catholica, Sophia, vel potius hagia sophia (Graece, 'sapientia sacra'), est expressio secundae Trinitatis Sanctae personae intellectae, ut in dedicatione templi Hagia Sophia Constantinopoli siti, et in Testamento Vetere, ut in Liber Proverbiorum 9:1 dicitur, sed non angelus vel dea.
