Lepidodactylus lugubris est species squamatorum familiae Gekkonidarum, quae habitant in Australia (Terra Reginae) Birmania, Bismarciano Archipelago, Guama, Iaponia (Ryukyu, Bonin), India (cum Insulis Andamanensibus), Insulis Salomonis,[1] Insulis Societatis, Malaesia occidentali (Pulau Pinang, Pulau Tioman), Indonesia (Amboina, Borneo, Halmahera, Kei Insulis, Lombok, Celebis), Nova Caledonia, Nova Guinea, Philippinis, Rotuma, Samoa, Sinis, Taivania, Tabropana, Vietnamia (Ku Lao Pan Jong insula), et Vitiis. Introductus est in Aequatoria (Insulas Testudinarias), Civitates Foederatas (Havaios), Columbiam, Oram Opulentam, Mexicum, Nicaraguam, Panamam, Tsiliam, Insulas Seisellenses.
