Salve, Bocianski!

Ave! Spero te "Vicipaedianum" aut "Vicipaedianam" fieri velle!

Liberus esto mihi aerumnas seu quaesitiones ferre.--Ioshus Rocchio 22:43, 12 Maii 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for your offer to translate something ... I would be interested in en:Austrian folk dancing, however, it is bad English, poor content and it would be hard to translate because of this bunch of special terms ... so I'd rather ask you to make some contributions here. ;-)
  • Ok, I can try a stub for en:Końskowola, however, I have nearly stopped contributing to the German Wikipedia since the destroyers (aka m:Deletionists) are ruling there.

Maybe "villa" is what you want? I think we should have a category covering cities and villages, maybe "locations"? Maybe Categoria:Loci?

I've answered on my talk page. --Roland2 13:21, 5 Iunii 2006 (UTC)Reply

My two cents for what it's worth...villa is more often used for country house or farm than village. You might consider oppidum in its place.--Ioshus Rocchio 13:39, 5 Iunii 2006 (UTC)Reply
My one cent: [1] I have seen it on several pages, e. g. Tumba, Cruciniacum, Damovilla, ... maybe we need a page villa ;-) --Roland2 14:27, 5 Iunii 2006 (UTC)Reply

Chrząchów'

recensere

A few things:

  1. That looks like a great book, from the picture, rich in historical value. Unfortunately, I can barely read it. I hardly tell where the polish stops, and latin starts.
  2. I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about the right latin names of places in poland, but I would start with Fontes nominum locorum.
  3. Absolutely not should Chrząchów' be latinized with polish, or any other diacritics, I will edit your experimentum to show you where/how to put the polish title in.
  4. There is much debate about how to properly latinize slavic phonemes. Start with Vicipaedia:Translatio nominum propriorum, and you should probably make friends with Usor:Alexander Gerashchenko, and his Disputatio_Usoris:Alexander_Gerashchenko#Comparatio_transliterationium_litterarum_Cyrillicarum_alphabeti_Russici_in_linguis_nonnulis.
  5. Vicus, yes and no...it does mean village, but not in a permanent sense. Look at en:Vicus, or si tu preferais lire en francais. Villa means village as a late latin noun, normally it means country house, like дача or ферма. See [2].

Hope all this helps!
