Nucleus suprachiasmaticus (TA: 14.1.082.911), abbreviatura SCN, est nucleus masgnitudinis parvae hypothalami anterioris, cum 20 000 neuronorum in mammaliis. SCN in regio anterior hypothalami invenitur, supra chiasma opticum. In lucem diei nocemque distinguendis nucleus suprachiasmaticus momentum magnum habet ("horologium corporis internum").
Nucleus plurimos nexus cum cerebri regionis aliis communicat. Ex variis cellularum typis constitutus est, quae diversa peptida, ut vasopressinum, velut neurotransmissores (imprimis GABA) liberant.
Praeterea aliae oscillatores in iecore, corde, renibus, intestino, musculis sceletalibus, adipocytis, haemocytis (sanguinis cellulis) descriptae sunt. Oscillationes etiam transcriptomata (summa ARN transcriptorum), proteomata (summa proteinorum, quae genomate expressa queat), metabolomata (summa molecularum minorum, metabolita dicta) ostendunt.
