Homarus americanus est species crustaceorum familiae Nephropidarum, quae ante Atlanticum Americae Septentrionalis litus habitat. In aquis frigidis humilibusque viget, ubi adsunt multa saxa locique ut se a praedatoribus celet. Solitarius et nocturnus degere solet. Piscibus, parvis crustaceis, et molluscis vescitur.
