Descensus Christi ad Inferos
Descensus Christi ad Inferos in Christianismo est spatium temporis inter Iesu Christi crucifixionem et resurrectionem, quo animas ab origine mundi ibi captivas ad salutem perduxit.
Mentio descensus Iesu Christi in mundum mortuorum fit in fidibus apostolorum et Athanasii, secundum quas enim Iesus "descendit ad inferos," quamvis nulla de mortuis liberatis dicunt. Secundum Catholic Encyclopedia, haec narratio primum in Evangelio Nicodemi clare apparet.[1] In Novo Testamento dicit Epistula I Petri "hoc[2] enim et mortuis evangelizatum" esse (4:6). Hanc interpretationem sustinens, Catechismus Catholicae Ecclesiae extollit Epistulam ad Ephesios (4:9), quod asserit eum "descendi[sse] primum in inferiores partes terrae."[3] Ex his locis biblicis interpretationes diversae oriuntur.[4] Descensus Christi ad Inferos die Sabbati Sancti anni liturgici commemoratur.
In arte Christiana, hoc factum etiam appellatur Anastasis (Graece Ἀνάστασις 'resurrectio'), et inventum culturae Byzantinae a rerum gestarum scriptoribus habetur, quod in Occidente saeculo octavo ineunte apparuit.[5]
