Narratio est describendi genus, quo res sive gestae sive fictae sermone aut scriptura efferuntur. Cum variae scientiae narrationem attingunt, tum narratologia systematice formam narrationis describere studet.

- Terminus maior fabulas sive fabellas, apologias, narratiunculas, dicta memoratu digna, diegemata, novellas, et libellos comprehendens
- Narratio sensu strictiore, quae plerumque est mythistoria brevior argumentisque minus diffusior
