Aevum glaciale
(Redirectum de Aetas glacialis)
Aevum glaciale[1] vel aetas glacialis[2] est diurturnum temporis spatium cum temperatura superficiei atmosphaeraeque telluris imminuuntur, ut nix, glacies polaris, et glaciaria alpina super terram continentalem crescant. Clima telluris inter aeva glacialia et aeva thermocepica variatur, cum glaciaria omnino absint. Tellus hodie in glaciatione quaternaria est.[3]
Tales recentior dicitur Pleistocaenum, et in eo fere viginti periodi distinguere potest. Maxima in amplitudine dicitur periodi glaciales, et minima periodi interglaciales; et idem in priore aevis quoque putatur. Periodus ultimus, in mente populorum illud aevum glaciale appellatur; res magni momenti in historia nostrae speciei putatur.
