Saccostrea cuccullata est species bivalvium familiae Ostreidarum ad litora oceani Indici sponte gignens. Etiam in mare Mediterraneo ad oras Turciae ab anno 1999 reperitur, ubi fortasse ad naves adhaerens, quae per canalem Suesiensem veniebant, advecta est.[2] In Thailandia, Australia, insula Mauritia colitur.
