Notomithrax ursus est species brachyurum familiae Majidarum, in Australia meridio-orientali et Nova Zelandia endemicum.[1] Carapax marum est circa 42 mm lata et circa 60 mm longa; carapax feminarum, circa 36 mm lata et 43 mm longa.[2] Haec decapoda plerumque inter algas marinas in lacubus saxosis habitant, seipsa ab algis marinis ut fieri solet teguntur.[3]
