Meloidae sunt familia coleopterorum superfamiliae Tenebrionoideorum, secretione defensiva cantharidini, agentis pustulandi, notissimae. Circa 7500 specierum omnem per orbem terrarum inveniuntur, multae conspicuae, nonnullaeque aposematice coloratae, suum venenum praedatoribus nuntiantes.
