Copernicia est genus viginti quattuor specierum[1] palmarum, in America Australi et Mari Caribico natarum. Genus ex Nicolao Copernico (1473–1543) astronomo appellatur.
Plantae sunt parvae ad medias arbores, quae ad 5–30 m altae crescunt, usitate prope rivulos et flumina in habitationibus quasi savannae. Species tribus Coryphearum sunt flabellatae. Foliis est petiolus nudus rotundo multorum foliolorum flabello finiens. Folia nonnullarum specierum sunt cerá carnaubá tecta.
