Cicindelinae
Cicindelinae sunt magna coleopterorum familiae Carabidarum subfamilia, quae hostilibus habitibus praedatoriis et celeritate currendi nota sunt. Cicindela hudsoni, celerissima species, usque ad 9 chiliometra per horam currere potest, vel 125 longitudines corporeas per secundum.[1] Anno 2005, 2600 fere species et subspecies descriptae sunt, maxime diversisis in regione orientali (Indo-Malayana), neotropicis sequentibus.[2]

Taxinomia
recensereCicindelinae olim familia Cicindelidae appellabatur, sed plurimi eruditi nunc eas in subfamiliam Cicindelinarum familiae Carabidarum digeruntur. Classificationes autem recentissimae, quamquam in universum nondum recipiuntur, eas in subgregem monophyleticum intra subfamiliam Carabinarum digerunt. Consensus de classificatione huius gregis ergo caret, a gradu familiae ad gradum subspeciei, et litterae hunc gregem tractantes difficile lectu sunt. Multa genera nova ex fissione Cicindelae, magni generis, oriuntur, ac multa a Gualterio Horn, entomologo Germanico, descripta sunt.
