Alfredus (vulgo Alfred) Russel Wallace (natus Llanbadoc in vico iuxta Burrium Monemutensis comitatus die 8 Ianuarii 1823; mortuus ad Broadstone Dorcestriae die 7 Novembris 1913), in scholis Hertfordiensibus et apud Institutum Mechanicorum Londiniense educatus, fuit Anglicus anthropologiae, palaeontologiae, zoologiaeque studiosus, qui principium selectionis naturalis separatim a Carolo Darwin excogitavit, ac conditor biogeographicae fuit, studii quod biologiam et geographiam coniungit. Qui cum Darwin theoriam evolutionis apud Societatem Linnaeanam Londiniensis die 1 Iulii 1858 una enuntiaverunt.
