Spornographia (ex Anglico sporno, portmanteau a sports "ludi" et porno "pornographia" deducto) est neologismus a Marco Simpson (verbi metrosexualitatis etiam creatore) fictus,[1] qui ad "aestheticam post-metrosexualem qua ludorum et praeconii industriae utuntur ad corpus masculinum nobis vendendum" refert.[t 1][2]

L’atleta (Athleta) Donati Barcaglia (18981905).

David Coad spornogaphiam retur esse "formam eroticismi quae athletae corpus tamquam obiectum desiderandum effingat."[t 2][3] Secundum Coad, spornographia sexualiter explicitissima ex anno 1999 in G Magazine periodico homosexuali Brasiliensi apparuit.[4]

Statua marmorea iuvenis athletae in Graecia antiqua circa annum 400 a.C.n. facta

Simpson eandem fere rem apud Graecos antiquos exstitisse scripsit:

Qui ludos in principio excogitaverunt, Graeci antiqui, certe athletas masculinos pulcherrimos putabant. Ludi eis erant causa pulchretudinem iuvenis formae masculinae adorandi mirandique, quae animi humani libertatem invicem repraesentabat. . . .

  1. "post-metrosexual aesthetic that sports and advertising are using to sell us the male body"
  2. "Spornography is a form of eroticism which exhibits the body of a sportsman as an object of desire."
  3. The people who essentially invented sport, the Ancient Greeks, certainly thought the male athlete the greatest head-turner. For them, sport was an opportunity to worship and admire the beauty of the youthful male form, which in turn represented the freedom of the human spirit. . . . Admittedly though, many Greeks would probably have been scandalized by the keenness of today’s golden young athletes to pose for images designed to inflame lust—and cash purchases.
  4. "Where metrosexual imagery stole slyly from soft gay porn, sporno blatantly references hard gay porn."
  5. "because this is sporno and not actual pornography, it remains just that: a promise. Advertising and fashion are less interested in making a fetish of the potent male body than its underwear: commodity fetishism is usually the name of the sporno game."
  6. "war sporno"
  7. "the use of male and female bodies to eroticize the military, to displace violence against Palestinians, to encourage Western publics to identify with Israeli soldiers, and to identify Israeli soldiers with these pervasive and attractive advertising images of the human body."
