Solanum lasiocarpum
Solanum lasiocarpum (binomen a Michaele Felice Dunal anno 1813 statutum;[1] synonymo etiam recenter usitato Solanum ferox) est planta florens generis Solani subgenerisque Leptostemoni. Clado Lasiocarpa huius subgeneris attributa est. Frutex ad 2 m altus, spinosus, foliis simplicibus modice lobatis, fructibus globosis diametro inter 2.5 cm et 3.5 cm, seminibus cuiusque fructus fere 100. Per Indiam, paeninsulam Indosinensem, Malaesiam, Indonesiam sponte gignitur et propter fructus sucosis acidisque colitur.

Huic fructui, nomine vernaculo Terung asam ("melongena acerba"), in Sarawak appellatio geographica conceditur. Haec species in India meridiana florens iam anno 1679 sub nomine ana-chunda ab Henrico van Rheede descripta et delineata est. De fructibus sic scripsit:
- Fructus, qui congregati seu falciati proveniunt, rotundi sunt, pilis densis, longis, surrectis ac nonnihil hirsutis, ex albicante flaviusculis undique circumdati ac subasperi, primum virides, postea flavi, calycibus suis arcte inferius excepti; in hisce inter pulpam succulentam quae primum viridis est, postea flavescens, numerosa semina continentur in quinque distinctas series inter parietes mambranaceos intermedios disposita.[2]
