Samuel Johnson (natus Lichfildiae die 18 Septembris 1709, mortuus Londinii die 13 Decembris 1784) fuit scriptor, criticus, lexicographus et poëta Anglicus. Satiras Iuvenalis imitavit in carminibus de Vanitate cupiditatis (The Vanity of Human Wishes) et Londinium (London), etiamsi non sunt re vera versiones carminum Iuvenalis. Celeber est editione sua annotata Shakesperii fabularum et A Dictionary of the English Language, anno 1755 edito, quod usque ad perfectionem Oxford English Dictionary clarissimum lexicon lexicon linguae Anglicae habitum est.
