Missulena insignis est species aranearum familiae Actinopodidarum, in Australia endemica.[1] Gulielmus Iosephus Rainbow marem in loco Menindie Novae Cambriae Australis conlegit et nomine Actinopus formosus anno 1896 descripsit.[2]
