Ingeniaria terrae motuum
Ingeniaria terrae motuum, sive ingeniaria sismica, est interdisciplinarius ingeniariae ramus qui structuras sicut aedificia pontesque designat et enodat, ad terrae motus attinens. Cuius finis est tales structuras satis valentes aedificare ut terrae motibus melius resistant. Ingeniarius terrae motuum (sive sismicus) structuras exstruire vult quae damnum per quassationem minorem non sustineant ac damnum maioris momenti per maiorem terrae motum evitant et non collabantur. Ingeniaria terrae motuum est disciplina scientifica quae societatem humanam, circumiecta naturalia, et circumiecta ab hominibus facta a terrae motibus protegenda tractat per periculum sismicum circumscribendum ad gradus qui societati humanae oeconomice placeant.[3]
Ingeniaria terrae motuum stricto sensu definitur studium morum structurarum et structurarum geographicarum quae oneri sismico obnoxiae sunt, unde subdivisio ingeniariae structuralis, ingeniariae geotechnicae, ingeniariae mechanicae, ingeniariae chemicae, physicae adhibitae, aliarumque disciplinarum plerumque habetur. Impensarum autem ob terrae motus recentiores subitarum causa, eius spatium aspectusque amplificari solent, ut nunc amplectatur ingeniariam civilem, ingeniariam mechanicam, ingeniariam nuclearem, scientiasque sociales, quae praecipue sociologia, scientia politica, oeconomica, ratio aeraria sunt.
Praecipua ingeniariae terrae motuum proposita sunt:
- Praedicere consecutiones quae fieri possunt fortissimotum terrae motuum in regionibus urbanis et de infrastructura civili.
- Designare, construere, administrare structuras ut per terrae motus usque ad exspectationes et codibus aedificationis obsequens fungantur.[4]
