Heptathela (ex Graeco hepta 'septem', ad numerum spinnerets? spectans) est basale aranearum familiae Liphistiidarum genus, ad quod insigniter pertinet kimura-gumo, aranea a paene omnibus Iaponibus agnota. Genus in Iaponia, Sinis, et Asia Meridiorientali invenitur.

Feminae ad 25 millimetra longae, mares aliquantulum minores sunt. Cuniculis sunt ostium ovaliforme, cui est cardo trans diametrum longum.[1]
