Formatio Pebasensis
Formatio Pebasensis[1] geologica in Amazonia occidentali deposita est, epocha Miocaena, stadiis Aquitanio, Burdigalio, Langhio, Serravallio, Tortonio, ab anno circiter 21 000 000 usque in circiter 8 000 000 a.p. Vestigia conservat aut lacus singuli (qui "lacus Pebasensis"[2] appellari licet) aut lacuum plurum olim patentium ubi hodie planities Amazoniae occidentalis per Peruviam, Brasiliam, Aequatoriam extenduntur. Fossilia ibi reperiuntur animalium litoralium et aquaticorum, inter quae:
- Mammalia: Dinomyidae indet., ?Octodontoidea indet.[3]
- Reptilia: Caiman wannlangstoni, Gnatusuchus pebasensis, Gryposuchus pachakamue, Purussaurus neivensis, Kuttanacaiman iquitosensis, Mourasuchus atopus, Paleosuchus sp., Podocnemis sp., Gavialoidea indet.[3][4]
- Pisces: cf. Hydrolycus sp., Leporinus sp., Potamotrygon sp., Pristis sp., Anostomidae indet.[3]
- Insecta: Macroteleia yaguarum, Sycorax peruensis[5]
