El Niño
Agitatio Australis El Niño / La Niña (Anglice: El Niño / La Niña–Southern Oscillation) est quasiperiodicum climatis exemplar quod trans tropicam Oceanum Pacificum circa quinos annos fit. Locutio Agitatio Australis ad variationes temperaturae superficiei tropicae Oceani Pacifici orientalis, calefactionem et refrigerationem El Niño[2] et La Niña vicissim appellatas, et in pressu superficiali aeris in tropico Pacifico occidentali spectat. Hae variationes arte coniunguntur: calidus status oceanicus, El Niño, altum aeris pressum superficialem in Pacifico occidentali, cum status frigidus, La Niña, humilem aeris pressum superficialem in Pacifico occidentali comitatur.[3][4] Machinationes quae hanc agitationem efficiunt iam investigandae sunt.
El Niño et La Niña, summae huius exemplaris climatis agitationes, caelum extremum, sicut inundationes et siccitates, in multis orbis terrarum regionibus efficiunt. Civitates crescentes quae ex agricultura piscatuque dependent, praecipue civitates ad Oceanum Pacificum adiacentes, maxime commoventur. In usu populari, Agitatio Australis El Niño tantum "El Niño" saepe appellatur; hoc nomen ad Iesum infantem Hispanice spectat, quia calefactio sollemnis in Pacifico prope American Australem circa tempus Christi Natalis saepissime animadvertitur.[5]
