Carassius
Carassius est genus piscium familiae Cyprinidarum. Clarissima species est Carassius auratus. Omnes huius generis species solum in Eurasia in natura endemicae olim erant, ut videtur ulterius ad occidentem ortae quam pisces generis Cyprini, quod Cyprinum carpionem insigniter comprehendit.

Species Carassii sunt cognatae specierum Cyprinorum, sed haud arte coniunctae; potius, inter se basaliorem subfamiliae Cyprininarum stirpem constituunt.[1]
