Astronomica (Manilius)
Astronomica sunt poëma Latinum didacticum (aliquando epicum appellatum) res caelestes tractans, hexametris scriptum, in quinque libros divisum. Astronomica circa annos 10–20 scripta sunt a poëta Romano, nomine fortasse Marco Manilio, de quo parum notum est. Quamquam ab aliis scriptoribus Romanis lecta esse videntur, explicite in nullo alio opere quod exstat proferuntur.
Astronomica sunt primum opus de astrologia et zodiaco magnum, intelligibilis, ac plerumque integrum. Ad hoc Lucretii poëma Epicureum De rerum natura multum auctoritate valuit, sed in Astronomicis placita Stoicorum deterministica approbantur, quibus mundus a deo curatus et a ratione rectus sit. Quintus liber Astronomicon lacunam habet, propter quod principalis libris magnitudo dubia est; alii putant totos libros perditos esse, alii credunt parvam tantum partem abesse.
