Nightwish (Latine scilicet Libido Noctis) est grex Finnicus anno 1996 a Thoma Holopainen et Erno Vuorinen conditus, qui metallum symphoniacum canit. Primis annis, fortasse usque ad 2004, stilo validimetallico^? cecinerunt, sed postea metallum magis symphoniacum sibi asciverunt. Plurimorum operum gregis modi textusque a Thoma Holopainen, clavichordista et moderatore gregis, compositi sunt. Carmina notissima sunt inter alia Nemo, Wish I had an Angel, Sleeping Sun, Amaranth, Storytime. Cantratice Tarja Turunen post novem annos mense Octobri anno 2005 demissa, grex mense Maia 2007 cantatricem novam, cui nomen Anette Olzon est, amatoribus suis ostendit. Sola nova Amaranth appellata mense Septembri 2007 vulgata est. Album novum Dark Passion Play (Ater Ludus Passionis) exeunte mense Septembri anni 2007 vulgatum est. Utra duo sola sunt "Bye Bye Beautiful" ('Vale, Vale, Pulchra') et "The Islander" ('Insulanus').
