Petrus Wilf, vulgo Peter Wilf, est musicus et palaeobotanista. De termino et calore maximo(en) Palaeocaeno Eocaeno inquisivit, praesertim in Argentina, saepe de sedimento Lacunae iuncosae. Fossile speciei Physalidis infinemundi hoc loco repertae et ab illo descriptum, novam aestimationem antiquitatis generis Physalidis familiaeque Solanacearum postulavit.
Philadelphiae educatus, alumnus universitatis Pennsylvaniensis, Petrus Wilf duos annos apud Institutum Smithsonianum, tres annos apud Michiganenses inquisitiones persecutus est. Ab anno 2002 in universitate civica Pennsylvaniensi docet, ubi ab anno 2013 professor scientiarum terrestrium meret.
