Lacus Alexandrina (Australia Australis)
Alexandrina Lacus est ephemeralis[1] aquae dulcis lacus, in Fleurieu paeninsula, Kangaroo insula, et Murray Mallee regionibus Australiae Australis situs, ad litus Oceani Australis adiacens, circa centum chiliometra ad meridiorientem Adelaidopolis patens. Hoc corpus aquae Lacum Albertum minorem adiungit; qui lacus una appellantur Lacus Inferiores.[2] Lacus in mare defluit per canalem Ostium Murrayanum appellatum, ad meridiorientem Goolwa oppidi situm.
Lacus e Principissa Alexandrina appellatur, fratris filia et nomine Victoria successorice Gulielmi IV regis Britanniarum.[3]
Lacum tempore somniandi Australianorum Indigenarum Muldjewangk monstrum incolabat.
Aves
recensereLacus est habitatio multarum specierum avium aquaticarum, inter quas migratorii aves litorales, quae progenies in Asia septentrionali et Alasca pariunt. Species quas lacus sustinet insigniter sunt Neophema chrysogaste, Botaurus poiciloptilus (in discrimen adductus), Sternula nereis (damno obiecta), et plus quam una centesima omnium Cereopsium novaehollandiae, Tadornarum tadornoidum, Phalacrocoracum carbo, et Calidrium acuminatarum quae in orbe terrarum exstant.[4]
