Ionathan Edwards
Ionathan Edwards (5 Octobris 1703—22 Martii 1758) fuit praedicator Christianus et theologus Americanus, "propriissimus Americae theologus philosophicus maximi momenti late habitus,"[1] et unus ex maximis aetatis colonicae eruditis Americanis (Marsden 2003:498–505).[2][3] Cuius opus theologicum amplissimum fuit, sed in theologia refecta, metaphysica determinismi theologici, et heredio Puritano inhaerens. Studia recentiora vehementius dixerunt quam penitus Edwards suum opus principale in notionibus pulchritudinis, harmoniae, et proprietate ethica condidit, et quam gravis notio Illuminationis suae menti fuit (Smith 2005:34–41). Edwards primas partes in evolutione Magnae Excitationis Primae egit, et nonnullas ex primis redintegrationibus annis 1733–1735 in suo templo Northamptoniae Massachusettae sito inspectavit[4] (Marsden 2003:150–63).

Memoria
Edwards per aliam redintegrationem anno 1741, secundum iter Tredecim Coloniarum a Georgio Whitefield factum, homiliam "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" ('Peccatores in manibus Dei irati') habuit, classicum primarum litterarum Americanarum textum (Marsden 2003:214–226), iam in scholis lectum. Edwards multis libris innotuit, inter quos The End For Which God Created the World; The Life of David Brainerd, qui milia missionariorum per saeculum undevicensimum excitavit; et Religious Affections, quem multi Evangelicales Refecti hodie iam legunt (Marsden 2003:499). Edwards inoculatione variolae obiit, mox postquam praeses Collegii Novae Caesareae (nunc Princetoniae) creatus est.[5] Edwards avus fuit Aaronis Burr, tertii Praesidis Vicarii Civitatum Foederatarum.
