Cryptopidae sunt familia chilopodorum ordinis Scolopendromorphorum. Omnino caecae sunt, ocellis carentes. Adulti viginti una crurum paria habent.[1] Genus Cryptops numeris est maximum familiae, cui sunt plus quam 150 species.[2]

Familiae sunt quattuor genera, quibus vicissim sunt saltem 184 species:[3]

Genera Plutonium et Theatops, olim in subfamiliam Plutoniuminarum digesta, nunc inter Plutoniumidas, in familia nuper elevata, ponuntur.[4]
