Compton Mackenzie [ˈkʌmptən məˈkɛnzɪ], pleniter Sir Edward Montague Compton Mackenzie (1883 - 1972), alumnus Collegii Magdalenae apud Oxonienses, fuit mythistoricus, autobiographus, emissarius et incola insularum: habitavit enim Capreis 1913-1920, Herm inter insulas Normannicas 1920-1923, Barram ab anno circiter 1935.
Vita
recensereNatus est die 17 Ianuarii 1883 in oppido West Hartlepool Angliae. In annis 1914-1917 fuit emissarius Britannicus in Graecia, de qua re quattuor commentaria scripsit, Gallipoli Memories, Athenian Memories, Greek Memories, Aegean Memories. Opus eius notissimum est mythistoria ludicra de aqua vita clam importata, Whisky Galore! Mortuus est die 30 Novembris 1972 Edimburgi.
