Canada (Nova Francia)
Canada fuit colonia Francica die 24 Iulii 1534 condita, cum Iacobus Cartier, explorator Francicus, terram nomine Francisci regis I occuparet.[1] Terrae coloniae creverunt et extendit secundum Flumen Sancti Laurentii. Aliae Novae Franciae coloniae erant Acadia et Terra Nova ad orientem et Ludoviciana procul ad meridiem sita.[2] Canada, excultissima Novae Franciae colonia, divisa est in tres districtus, qui erant Quebecum urbs, Urbs Trifluvianensis, et Mons Regalis, cuique suus gubernatio. Gubernator Districtus Quebeci etiam fuit gubernator generalis omnis novae Franciae.[2]
Quia gradus progressus Canadiensis aliarum coloniarum similis erat, nomina Canada et Nova Francia saepe permutabantur.[3] Post Foedus Lutetiae anno 1763 compositum, cum Francia Canadam et eius dependentias Britanniarum Regno concederet, colonia Provincia Quebecum de novo nominata est.[4]
