Anulus ocularis vel anulus periocularis vel circulus ocularis in avibus est anulus pennarum perparvarum qui anulum orbitalem[5] circumdat,[6] anulum cutis nudae qui oculum avis artissime cingit.[6][7] Anulus ocularis saepe est merum ornamentum, et eius color a plumas adiacentbus discrepare potest.[4] Anulus pennarum aliquando imperfectus est, arcum ocularem formans. Conspicuo anulo oculari absente, anulus orbitalis saepe anulus ocularis appellatur.[4][8][9][10] Nudus anulus orbitalis durus aut corporeus esse potest, vel wattle? ocularem formare potest. Qui est signum investigatoribus agrestibus utilissimum in multis avium speciebus.[9][11] Rhynchocyclus brevirostris, Hemitriccus orbitatus, et Asthenes palpebralis sunt exempla specierum quae ex ea proprietate vulgo in variis linguis appellantur.

Zosteropes sunt aves quae ex anulis ocularibus in plurimis speciebus inventis appellantur.[1][2][3] Nomen generis similiter 'stroppos oculorum' significat.[4]
