Historia
recensereAnno 1988 grex nomine Scum conditus est. Posteaquam Iohannes Hegg anno 1992 se ad gregem adiunxit metallum mortis canere coepit nomenque in Amon Amarth commutavit. Anno 1993 album Thor Arise, tum anno 1994 album The Arrival of the Fimbul Winter pervulgationis commendaticiae causa publicum reddidit. Pactionem fecit cum Pulverised Records, quo discus compactus Sorrow Throughout the Nine Worlds publicus redditus est. Sex milia discorum compactorum venditi sunt.[2]
Tum cum Metal Blade Records pactionem fecerunt[1], quo anno 1998 album Once Sent from the Golden Hall publicum redditum est, quare multo etiam nobilius facti sunt. Inde multae actorum scaenicorum lustrationes in Europa, Canada, Civitatibusque Foederatis Americanis consecutae sunt, sicut septem pelliculae musicae. Ineunte mense Ianuario anni 2008 in Australia et Nova Zelandia primum in scaena apparuerunt.
Genus musicae
At quidem nescio, quid sit."[3]
Nomen gregis
recensereNomen Amon Amarth (Latine: 'Mons Fati') est Sindarinum Montis Fati nomen in Legendario Tolkien. Ioannes Hegg in colloquio interrogativo explicavit: "Ted [Lundström] nomen proposuit. Non magni admiratores studiosissimi Domini Anulorum sumus, at nomen Amon Amarth nobis magnificum videtur. Nomen Amon Amarth est Sindarinum Montis Fati nomen. At arbitror id, quod Amon Amarth praestet, esse."[3]
In carmine Amon Amarth albi Once Sent from the Golden Hall narratur fabula de itinere bellatorum quadringentorum ad Montem Fati, ad Amon Amarth.
- Thunder breaks the silence
- Of five hundred men assembled ashore
- Gazing through the misty rain
- At the mountain not a mile away
- So dark and silent it stands there
- The mighty Amon Amarth
- Reaching for the cloudcloaked skies
- So grim and fearful in might.[4]
