Fistula cylindrata constat ex aere confecta, qua musicus, labiis in ostium angustius adhibitis aëreque efflato vibratis, canit, quo sonus longitudine fistulae, ipsius etiam vibratae, magnopere amplificetur. Valvae instrumenti per seriem maeandrorum aperiendam et claudendam fistulae longitudinem mutant ut diversi gradus scalae canantur. Et in jazz et in musica classica canit.
