Bara fuit una ex actricibus aetate muta populo gratissimis atque unum ex primis cinematographiae symbolis sexualibus. Suarum personarum quasi feminae fatalis causa, agnomine The Vamp (Anglice, pro vampire[1]) appellabatur.[2][3][4][5] Bara plus quam quadraginta pelliculas ab anno 1914 ad annum 1926 fecit, sed plurimae nunc deperditae sunt, in conflagratione apud archivum societatis Fox anno 1937 combustae. Post 1921, cum Carolo Brabin nuberet, duas temporis spatii pleni pelliculas additas fecit, et se ab industria cinematographica tum removit; numquam quidem in pellicula sonica apparuit.
