Solanum virginianum
Solanum virginianum (binomen a Carolo Linnaeo anno 1753 statutum;[1] synonymis recentius usitatis S. xanthocarpum,[2] S. surattense[3]) est planta florens generis Solani subgenerisque Leptostemoni. Frutex prostratus spinosissimus est, ad 60 cm altus, foliis ad 11 cm longis et profunde lobatis, fructibus immaturis viridibus candidisque, maturis flavis, diametro inter 1.5 cm et 2.5 cm. In Pakistania, India, Srilanca, Nepalia, Bangladesia, Birmania, Iunnania, insulis Nicobarensibus, etiam In Iemenia sponte gignitur ad margines viarum agrorumque et in terris ruinosis. Fructus a pluribus populis comeduntur; planta in medicinam adhibetur.
