Platymantis est genus ranarum familiae Ceratobatrachidarum.[1][2][3] Cui generi hodie definito sunt usque ad sexaginta 60 species vivae, plerumque in Philippinis endemicae; paraphyleticum autem iam apparet. Genus ergo subtilius definiendum est, fortasse per nonnullas species ad Ceratobatrachum maius genus movendas (cum Batrachylode).[2]

Hodie in hoc genere sunt saltem triginta species exstantes.[2] Brown et alii (2015) putant esse quinquaginta ad sexaginta species in Platymante, cum omnes species crypticae describantur. [4]
