Conservationis status
Invenitur in Samoa, Samoa Americana, Tonga, Uvea et Futuna, atque insulis Vitiensibus. Eius habitatio naturalis est subtropicae vel tropicae terrarum humilium et madidarum silvae. Detrimentum habitationis ei minatur.
Haec species olim in genus Alopecoenas a Ricardo Bowdler Sharpe anno 1899 digesta est, sed nomen generis in Pampusanam (a Carolo Luciano Bonaparte anno 1855 nominatum) anno 2019 commutatum est, quia hoc nomen prius datum erat.[2][3]
