Occisio Philippi Macedonis
Occisio Philippi Macedonis, id est interfestio regis Philippi II patris Alexandri Magni, Aegis anno 336 a.C.n. accidit eodem die quo Philippus nuptias celebrabat filiae Cleopatrae et Alexandri Epirotae. Interfector fuit Pausanias, sed qua ratione egerit haud certum est. Multi Olympiadem Philippi uxorem inculpaverunt, nonnulli Alexandrum.[1] Iustinus, auctorum Latinorum solus, occisionem sic narrat:
- Sed nec ludorum magnificentia deerat; ad quorum spectaculum Philippus cum sine custodibus corporis medius inter duos Alexandros, filium generumque, contenderet, Pausanias, nobilis ex Macedonibus adulescens, nemini suspectus, occupatis angustiis Philippum in transitu obtruncat diemque laetitiae destinatum foedus luctu funeris facit (Iustinus, Epitome Pompei Trogi 9.6).
