Myxococcus xanthus (m.[1]) est bacterium familiae Myxococcearum, quod in praedatoriis et saprotrophicis coloniis a se singulae speciei constitutis pelliculis biologicis habitant, quae examina in usu recepto appellantur. Myxococcus xanthus, qui paene ubique in solo inveniri potest, est tenuis cellulae "gram-negative" bacillus, qui, indicia ex circumiectu respondens, mores a se constitutos exhibet. Examen, aliquando cum grege luporum comparatum, circumiectum per stigmergiam commutat.
