Michaël Boym
Michaël Petrus Boym (Polonice Michał Piotr Boym, Sinice 卜彌格 Bǔ Mígé; natus anno 1612; mortuus anno 1659) fuit missionarius Iesuita exploratorque Polonicus. In Sinis aliisque terris peregrinationes fecit et de eis commentarios nonnullos scripsit. Etiam primum lexicon inter linguam Sinicam et linguam Europaeam convertens scripsit.
Opus eius notissimum, Flora Sinensis, Vindobonae anno 1656 edita, animalia plantasque Sinarum describit. Textus plures composuit qui in opere Athanasii Kircheri, titulo China illustrata, comprehenduntur. Atlas geographicus a Boym delineatus, titulo Magni Cathay, quod olim Serica et modo Sinarum est monarchia, quindecim regnorum octodecim geographicae tabulae, usque adhuc ineditus, apud bibliothecam Vaticanam iacet (Borg. Cin. 531). Opus magnum, titulo Medicus Sinicus, quod post mortem auctoris libelli Specimen medicinae Sinicae et Clavis medica partim patefecerunt, magna parte ineditum manet.
