Lingua Garhvali (Gaṛhavālī), e serie linguarum Pahari, ad Linguas Indicas divisionis Indoiranicae et familiae Indoeuropaeae pertinet. In India adhibetur in regione Garhwal civitatis Uttarakhand et in pagos nonnullos civitatis Himachal Pradesh; admodum similis est linguae Kumauni, cuius locutores, iuxta urbem Champawat habitantes, orientali parti regionis confiniunt.

Linguae Garhvali dialecti recognoscuntur Srinagari, Tehri (seu Gangapariya), Badhani, Dessaulya, Lohbya, Majh-Kumaiya, Bhattiani, Nagpuriya, Rathi, Pauri (seu Salani), Ravai, Bangani, Parvati, Jaunpuri, Gangadi (seu Uttarkashi) et Chandpuri. Quidam et Jaunsari inter dialectos Garhvali enumerant; alii autem linguam separatam constituunt. Locutores dialectorum Jaunpuri et Ravai in re culturali locutoribus Jaunsari assimilandi sunt; dialecti Parvati et Bangani ab aliis omnibus satis differunt. Omnium dialectorum Srinagari norma litterarium praebet, Pauri autem dulcissimam esse dicitur.
De dialecto seu lingua Bangani valde differunt eruditi, Nicolao Petro Zoller hunc sermonem elementa linguistica stirpis "centum" familiae Indoeuropaeae servavisse praetendens, Anvita Abbi de singularitate huius dialecti consentiente, Georgio van Driem et Suhnu Sharma abnuentibus.
