Cotys III
Cotys III (Graece Κότυς) (floruit 276/275 a.C.n.-270 a.C.n.) rex Odrysarum fuit, qui tertio saeculo a.C.n. regnavit. In inscriptione Graeca Delphis, anno 276/275 a.C.n. posita, ille Κότυς Ῥαίζδου Θραικῶν βασιλεὺς "Cotys Rhaezdi filius Thracum rex" se proclamat.[1] Igitur successio regum Thracicorum "Seuthes III > Rhaezdus > Cotys III" accipitur.[2]
Biographia
recensereCotys III filius regis Rhoegi vel Rhaezdi et nepos regis Seuthi III erat. Anno 270 a.C.n. Rhoego successit in regnum. Fortasse Cotys III nominantur in decreto urbis Apolloniae Ponticae (hodie Sozopolis in Bulgaria).[3] Ille probabiliter pater regis Rhaescuporidis, qui inter annos 240 a.C.n. et 215 a.C.n regnavit, fuit.[4] Non scimus annum mortis eius.
