Chaetacme est monotypicum plantarum florentium genus familiae Ulmacearum, unam speciem, Chaetacmen aristatam, continens. Anglice appellatur thorny elm[1]; lingua Gikuyu, muyuyu.[2] Ea est in Africa orientali occidentalique et Madagascaria endemica.[3]

Planta est frutex vel parva arbor, quae ad 10 m alta crescit. Cui sunt rami demissi angularesque, spinis ad 3.5 cm longis obtecti. Folia sunt lanceolata, ad 11 cm longa et 5 cm lata, apice acuta, marginibus laevibus vel serratis. Frutex est dioecius et sexu dimorphicus, floribus maribus femineisque in singulis plantis latis.[3][4]

Planta est hostis Volumni chaetacme, hemipteri familiae Miridarum.[5]

Spinosi plantae rami ut saepes in vicis Africanis adhibentur.[2][6]
