Castanea crenata
Castanea crenata (nomen a Philippo Francisco von Siebold et Iosepho Gerhardo Zuccarini anno 1846 statutum) est arborum species generis Castaneae et familiae Fagacearum. Sponte gignit sub climatibus temperatis Iaponiae (ubi primum domesticata est), Coreae et Sericae boreo-orientalis. Propter fructus comestibiles in eisdem regionibus colitur. In Iaponia iam aevo Jōmon fructus pabulum hominibus erant, arboresque iuxta oppida crescentes ob hanc rationem protegebantur.
