Aminoacidum
Aminoacidum[1] est res organica compositum organicum quae radices carboxylicam (-COOH) et aminicam (-NH2) habet. Elementa principalia aminoacidorum sunt carbonium (C), oxygenium (O) et nitrogenium (N). Circiter 500 aminoacidorum nota sunt, ex eis viginti codice genetico in proteina includuntur, profecto non solum 20 sed etiam 22 (+ selenocysteinum et pyrrolysinum) in proteinis reperiuntur, ergo illa aminoacida proteinogenica dicitur, et reliqua non proteinogenica. Formula generalis est:
