Thomas Harnett Harrisson, plerumque dictus Tom Harrisson (1911–1976), saepe anthropologus appellatus, fuit polymathes Britannicus, qui, antequam Oxoniam migravit, oecologiae in Universitate Cantabrigiensi studuerat. Interdum fuit actorum diurnorum scriptor, archaeologus, ethnologus, sociologus, tutor naturaae, explorator, miles, ornithologus, curator musei, pellicularum moderator, denique scriptor.
In Argentina natus est, et apud Scholam Harrovianam educatus. Investigationes ornithologicas et anthropologicas in Vanuatu fecit, multos annos in Borneo (praecipue Sarawak) habitavit, et deinde in Civitatibus Foederatis Americae, Britanniarum Regno, et Francia consedit. Socius etiam fuit Mass-Observationis?, Britannicae pro exploratione sociali sodalitatis. Mortem per calamitatem vehicularem in Thailandia obiit.
Per secundum bellum mundanum, a mense Maio 1942 ad Iunium 1944, Harrisson fuit dux Mass-Observationis, et iudicia emissionum radiophonicarum in ephemeride The Observer proferenda scripsit.
